It was him who put the video up for people to see. He didn’t bring that up, it was all about Mercedes, and how she’s gonna be a star and how talented she is. No gloating, no comparisons, no self-centeredness. And the fact that Mercedes didn’t sop it all up and take the credit, “he’s exaggerating”, “I couldn’t have done it without you”.

Mercedes and Sam are not really dating. All of the Samcedes moments have been dream sequences, daydreams, and their imaginations because Sam likes Mercedes and Mercedes likes Sam. They are just too afraid to let one another know their true feelings. That’s why we get Samcedes moments only sometimes. It wouldn’t be right to give a couple who aren’t actually a couple all of the screen time.
